Newport Beach, California, November 1, 2012 -- CloudBerry Lab, a leading cloud storage tools maker, today released
CloudBerry Backup
version 3.0.2, an application that allows users to online backup data to their cloud storage accounts
such as Amazon S3, Windows Azure, Google Storage, Rackspace and OpenStack.
In the new release CloudBerry Backup becomes fully compatible with Amazon Glacier,
the recently introduced extremely low-cost storage. Optimized for data backup and archiving it becomes a supplement to Amazon S3
storage costing as little as $0.01 per gigabyte per month. Amazon claimed Glacier to be as reliable as its original S3 solution
but with longer data retrieval time.
From this release CloudBerry Backup users can leverage scheduling capabilities to automate data backup to Glacier or backup files
in real time as soon as they are changed. Varieties of encryption algorithms help users protect their sensitive data, while compression
allows reducing total storage cost. All operation executes on the user machine before data is sent to Amazon Glacier. Such users get
full control over their backup process while keeping data remotely.
